I dropped by the LSL Guitars booth at the NAMM Show today and checked out their new Saticoy XT and boy what an AWESOME guitar!
This particular guitar has a bound Swamp Ash body with a baked Maple neck and is equipped with an original Floyd Rose locking tremolo and hot wound LSL humbuckers. The overdriven tone grabs you by the throat with its heavy and aggressive yet articulately clear roar. Rolling back the volume yields a chimey, barely-breaking up bluesy voice that tugs at your soul. There are no dead spots on the neck and notes sustain forever regardless what string or fret you’re on.
Imagine my disappointment when I found out the this guitar is already spoken for! But Lance assured me that they can build me one exactly like it if not better! Check out the Saticoy XT in action in the video below. This is my solo on Mystic Reign’s “Ride Hard”, now available on iTunes, CDBaby and Amazon
Excited to announce my first electric release since 2006! This is a Hard rocking collaboration with MYSTIC REIGN, the hardest working Rock N’ Roll band in the SoCal Inland Empire. This song encompasses brotherhood of all bikers!
Buy the single and leave a comment in the reviews section. RAWK ON!
Played a gig with Mystic Reign last night in Victorville, CA and used my recently acquired Friedman-modded Marshall head for the gig. My setup worked pretty well! More than enough volume on tap, and TONE for days! Nothing beats a 100w beast pushing enough air for you to feel the hairs on your forearms move!
I’ll need a proper effects loop to route my delay and reverb into as running them in front of the amp makes their levels unpredictable. Looks like the Bad Cat Unleash attenuator/boost is the answer, will report back when I get it.
This clip is a good demo of my use of the amp. My Explorer has a 6-way toggle switch which allows me to get single coil sounds as well as full humbuckers. You’ll also hear the RC Booster as an attenuator (reverse boost), the 95Q Wah and the Dunlop Hendrix Tribute Unvibe.
